MQHA Creative Drawing

Deadline is March 15, 2012!

MQHA will host a Creative Drawing Contest open to ALL State of Michigan Youth. We will print 300 T-Shirts with the winning drawing to be worn by the MQHA staff, volunteers, board members and anyone else we can stuff into one! The winner will receive: If a MQHYA Member a “Weekend Pass” to the Easter Eggstravaganza (to include all entry fees, show fees and stall fees). If not a MQHYA Member the youth shall receive a FREE membership, a FREE Horse Show Stall, your Bio will be spotlighted in the Youth Newsletter and MQHA Journal, named Ambassador for the day AND would be invited to the show for a small presentation during the show. All you have to do to get your T Shirt is come to the show we’re giving them away!

RULES: Open to ANY Michigan Youth (Must be 18 years or younger as of January 1, 2012 to be eligible). Drawing must include the words “Easter Eggstravaganza” Drawing must not be more than 2 colors and must be submitted prior to March 15th with a completed Entry Form.

2012 Stallion Service Sale

The live auction of the 2012 SSS has concluded. Top selling stallions for 2012 were Kid Coolsified and Grand Slam Touchdown for $2,400 each, followed closely by Mr Yella Fella at $2,200. But, there are still several top quality stallions that remain available at 60% of their advertised fee plus a $25 office charge. Get 'em while their hot!

Treating Your Horses as a Business

Albion College, along with Grant, Millman, and Johnson, P.C., Certifed Public Accountants and Business Advisors, will be presenting a seminar on Treating Your Horses as a Business. The seminar will be held at the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center at Albion College on February 12, 2012 from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Click Here for more information.


Jack Filkins

Jack Filkins, a popular horseshoer at many of our MQHA events has had some serious health issues, including the loss of his leg. After spending the last month in the hospital, he is now home.

The UPQHA has set up a crisis fund for him.
